About Us
National Empowerment Development Program (NEDP), is a South Sudanese women-led, humanitarian non-profit, non-governmental, non – political and non-sectarian National NGO established in 2020 by a group of powerful and strong skilled women and NEDP in 2024 is legally registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) at the national level under Chapter 3, section 10 of NGO Act 2016, under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs; Republic of South Sudan, Certificate Reg. No. 5242
NEDP was established by a group of visioned indigenous South Sudanese women who are nationals with a common goal to development and strengthen the capacity of the marginalized population within South Sudan through provision of emergency and developmental aid to meet their needs.
NEDP was to deal with the present socio-economic and environmental problems facing women, youth and children in diverse local settings by means of good understanding and sharing the problems with each other and to find out the best way of solving the problems through free discussion and people participation in the decision making and get-together under one umbrella of NEDP
NEDP took into consideration the aspect of value-added activities through implementing emergency and developmental programs in partnerships with other national, private sectors, individual actors, international organizations, local authorities and national government.
Our Thematic Areas
Food security and livelihood (FSL)
NEDP provides emergency food and support small farmers to produce enough healthy food on a short and long-term basis and help disadvantaged people increase their income.
Education
Knowing that most people in South Sudan are unable to read or write. NEDP shall focus on support that will send children to school and tackle school dropout through vocational skills trainings
Nutrition
NEDP support young women and men of South Sudan to establish nutrition-based feeding through trainings, awareness and establishing kitchen gardens at homes, schools and health facilities.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
To prevent water and airborne disease, NEDP will channel their support towards WASH activities at community level and institutions (schools, Prisons, health facilities etc) and reduce mortality rate within South Sudan.
Health in Emergencies
With NEDP public health education specialist, NEDP help to improve the provision of public health services to prevent and manage life threatening diseases like Malaria, and other water and air borne diseases within South Sudan
Climate Change
Climate change and environmental destruction has and is affecting the world and not limited to South Sudan. In preparation to prevent some of the effects of climate change, NEDP shall focus on mitigating the consequences of climate change
Protection and GBV
NEDP shall work to support and defend women and girls who are the survivors of violence or injustice. Besides, promoting women’s leadership and political participation. NEDP shall, with their program, support women empowerment and campaign for equal rights, and provision of sexual and reproductive health education
Peace Building
NEDP shall focus on the young generation by supporting peace clubs at community level and schools. Integration of community village reconciliation programs
